From March 9 to 11, Yo-Yo Ma takes the stage with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for the premiere performances of Salonen’s Cello Concerto.
The concerto was co-commissioned by the Chicago Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Barbican Centre, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
The premiere performances with Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic will take place at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall on March 15, 16, 17 & 18, with additional concerts following at London’s Barbican Center on April 2, and at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on April 3.
