Following the release of Morgan Neville’s documentary film The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble and its companion album Sing Me Home, Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble embark on a ten-city tour of the United States.
The tour kicks off on August 7 at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA, the birthplace of Silkroad. On August 9, Silkroad appears at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA, followed by performances on August 10 at the Freeman Stage in Selbyville, DE and on August 11 at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble take the stage at Cuyahoga, OH’s Blossom Music Festival on August 13. On August 15, they perform in Indianapolis, IN at the Hilbert Circle Theater and on August 16 they return to the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, IL.
The tour continues August 18 at Berkeley, CA’s Hearst Greek Theatre and August 19 at the Green Music Center in Sonoma, CA, closing on August 21 at Los Angeles, CA’s Hollywood Bowl.
