In Concert: Beethoven Sonatas for Cello and Piano with Emanuel Ax

This April, Yo-Yo Ma and pianist Emanuel Ax perform a program of Beethoven Sonatas for Cello and Piano at Norfolk, Virgnia’s Chrysler Hall (April 12), the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC (April 13), and New York’s Carnegie Hall (April 15).

The performances include Beethoven’s Sonatas for Cello and Piano in F Major, Op. 5, No. 1; in g minor, Op. 5, No. 2; in A Major, Op. 69; in C Major, Op. 102, No. 1; and in D Major, Op. 102, No. 2.

Ma and Ax share the stage later this spring on May 5 to celebrate Carnegie Hall’s 125th anniversary alongside fellow musicians Martina Arroyo, Renée Fleming, Marilyn Horne, Lang Lang, Jessye Norman and James Taylor.
