Presented as part of Audible’s ‘Words + Music’ initiative, Yo-Yo Ma: Beginner’s Mind includes 90 minutes of spoken word and exclusive musical recordings. The audiobook spans Ma’s life and career, reflecting on the lessons learned along the way. Yo-Yo Ma: Beginner’s Mind is available for free to all U.S. listeners.
In Yo-Yo Ma: Beginner’s Mind, Ma touches on the virtues of an open mind, empathy, and collaboration across borders. Ma’s words are paired with new musical recordings, ranging from Bach to compositions from Argentina, Brazil, China, Lebanon, and Turkey. The new recordings are exclusive to Yo-Yo Ma: Beginner’s Mind and will not appear on any other release.
